Doncic made eight three-pointers, including a deep three-pointer that put him over 10,000 points for his career with 4:52 remaining in the first quarter.

The 24-year-old Serbian is tied for the seventh-fastest in terms of games played (358), and he is the sixth-fastest in terms of age to achieve 10,000 points.

Doncic’s game-winning basket gave the Mavs a 21-11 lead. However, he and the Mavericks still had a lot of work ahead of them against a tough Suns squad that overcame a 15-point hole to take a six-point lead early in the fourth quarter.

Dallas took a 115-106 lead halfway through the fourth quarter thanks to a 17-4 scoring outburst. Doncic celebrated the win in front of the Suns supporters.

Doncic, who also had six rebounds, 15 assists, four steals, and three blocked shots, remarked, “It’s fun for me.” “The whole gym is silent when you make a shot. Thus, it is the world’s greatest sensation.

For Phoenix, Grayson Allen scored 19 of his 32 points during the third quarter. The night belonged to Doncic, even though Devin Booker scored 20 points and provided 10 assists and Kevin Durant scored 16.

As he became the fourth player to score 50 points or more on Christmas, which the NBA customarily commemorates with a schedule of big games, he hit all 12 of his free throws.

The two teams with the most NBA championships, the Celtics and the Lakers, squared off against each other on Monday.

The Boston Celtics defeated the Los Angeles Lakers by a score of 126-115, thanks to the scoring of 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 25 points from Jayson Tatum. Kristaps Porzingis also contributed to the team’s triumph.

LeBron James of the Lakers finished with only 16 points on five of 14 shots.

The Lakers started to chip away, cutting the deficit to one point at halftime, but the Celtics stormed out to a 12-0 lead and led by as many as 18 before that happened.

When James and Jaylen Brown collided late in the second quarter, both teams were given a fright. Both fell, Brown with his back and James with his left knee, but they both got back into the game.

The way Boston reacted after the Lakers narrowed the deficit and took a two-point lead early in the third quarter on a slam by Jarred Vanderbilt, was what Tatum said he enjoyed most about the win.

Isn’t it a significant victory? Tatum said, “It’s Christmas day and it’s hard to win on the road,” after the Celtics’ league-best 23-6 record.

Jalen Brunson scored 38 points as the New York Knicks defeated the Milwaukee Bucks 129-122 at Madison Square Garden to open the day. The Knicks ended Milwaukee’s seven-game winning streak.

The Knicks have suffered nine straight losses against Milwaukee, most recently a 130-111 defeat on Saturday.

KERR CRUSHES OFFICIALLY
In a matchup between the past two champions, the defending champion Denver Nuggets defeated Golden State 120-114, leaving Warriors coach Steve Kerr incensed by the refereeing.

The Nuggets extended their winning run to five games as Jamal Murray scored 28 points and Nikola Jokic, the two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, recovered from a bad shooting day by going 18-for-18 at the free-throw line.

Jokic ended with 26 points, 14 rebounds, and 8 assists despite making just four of his twelve field goals. In a seesaw duel, the Nuggets prevailed.

The Warriors were on a five-game winning run going into the match. However, Golden State’s Andrew Wiggins led the team with 22 points off the bench while superstar Stephen Curry was held to only 18 points on seven of 21 shooting.

Jokic was called for 14 free throws in the second half, and Kerr accused the NBA of “legislating defense out of the game.”

Kerr said, “It was disgusting, and if I were a fan, I wouldn’t have wanted to watch the second half of that game.”

Kerr continued, criticizing what he termed “a parade to the free-throw line,” saying, “It was just baiting refs into calls, but the refs have to make those calls because that’s how they’re trained.”

In Miami, Jaime Jaquez Jr., a rookie, led the Heat to a 119-113 win against the Philadelphia 76ers, who were without NBA Most Valuable Player Joel Embiid, with a career-high 31 points and ten rebounds.

For Miami, Tyler Herro scored 22 points and Bam Adebayo scored 26 points along with 15 rebounds. Erik Spoelstra, the team’s coach, moved to 9-0 in Christmas game play.
